Dead Write, by Susan Richards

Jessica Kallan and Ethan Miller are at it again. Back in the middle of another murder investigation, only this time they are the primary suspects and racing to find a killer before one of them ends up in jail… or dead.

Best-selling author, Ethan Miller, has been on a five-week book tour, traveling the Midwest in an RV caravan, with his reluctant family in tow. Added to the household is Constance, Ethan’s third ex-wife—and Ethan and Constance together are a volatile mix.

St. Josephine’s College for Women in Missouri, Constance’s alma mater, is the last stop on the tour where Constance has planned a reunion with her classmates and a week-long writing seminar hosted by Ethan.

Five weeks of togetherness is more than Jess can bear. With seven days left to go, she’s just trying to get through the week without killing anyone.

At a social hour on campus, welcoming Ethan and the woman who will be attending his workshop, a young man confronts Ethan claiming to be his son.

When Constance figures out that the young man was conceived while she and Ethan were still married, all hell breaks loose. The nuns and Constance’s classmates are dying to learn the details of Ethan’s lurid past. Unfortunately, dying is not the thing to wish for when less than twenty-four hours later someone ends up dead.

Dead Write is the second book in the Jessica Kallan Mystery series.

Susan Richards was born in Omaha, Nebraska and has spent most of her life in the Midwest. She has a BA in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Education from the College of St. Scholastica and has completed graduate work in the field of Special Education from Seattle University and Learning Technology from the University of St. Thomas. She spent three years as a classroom teacher, but has also worked in a variety of businesses over the years.  One of her favorite jobs was writing greeting cards.

After graduate school, she moved to the Pacific Northwest for a time, later returning to Northern Minnesota to be closer to her family. Every winter, she wonders what the hell she was thinking.
